Greetings from sunny Cambridge. Boy, what a good change from the weather over the weekend. Last Friday, I went up to Exeter (Devon) with two friends, Cara and Sunny, to stay with Caras family in the country. I had a good time, just winding down and chilling for once in the countryside. So what did we do over the weekend? seriously just bum around and eat good food (can I mention the succulent roast beef for sunday roast with yorkshire pudding). Other than a day trip to Castle Drogo, a National Trust property, it was just relaxing at home - sleeping in till late, reading books (re-read Harry Potter! mMm), watching films (watched Phantom of the Opera for the first time - the soundtrack is fantastic. I really want to watch the theatre in London; Cara tells me there are student discounts for matinee shows. nice.). Tim and Cris (Caras parents) are so sweet, and so is Pip, Caras sister. They have a dog, cat and goldfish as well. It was hilarious because the dog wore panties (see the photos)! haha

I arrived back in London Paddington station yesterday in the early afternoon, but not for long, because I soon met up with Kenny and Desmond (Kenny is down in London for the long weekend from York) because I know I wont be seeing Kenny for at least a few years later. We had dinner at exactly the same Chinese restaurant as the last time we all met up - which wasnt too long - in fact, it was also the last place I dined out in London. Mm yay for pearl tea drinks. After dinner, I took the bus to Kings Cross station and made a sprint to platform 9 where the train was leaving to Cambridge in one and a half minutes (train was leaving at 9.15pm; I had arrived at 9.13!). I got on, thankfully. I didnt even buy a train ticket (love the London/UK transport at times) because I was in a rush and no one checked me - so I saved 11 quid (or AUD 27). maybe I will do the same going back..hehehe.

So, Im in Cambridge now, sitting in Jaimes room. Why am I here? For the next four to five days, Im going to bury myself in my dissertation and hopefully come up with a full draft by Friday evening - yes, Im giving myself a tight deadline. I will probably let my hair loose on Friday and go out into town with Jaime and her mates and then train back to London early Saturday morning. So, I shall update again when I get back to London next weekend.
